WEEK 7: Bronx Masquerade

MONDAY
  1. Pop Quiz: On a separate sheet of paper, label it Bronx Masquerade Pop Quiz. Complete each section in the organizer below for characters Tanisha through Porscha.
     2. W-up #18: Bullying.  Watch the video in the link Teen Bullied For Stuttering Blows Away Judges on 'The Voice: Australia' and answer the following question: How is this contestant like any of the characters in the novel we are reading provide evidence to support your comparison. 

     3. Complete Weekly Activities (1 per week) This is due next Monday. 

TUESDAY

  1. Counselor Presentation: 4 Year Goals

WEDNESDAY
  1. W-up #18: Guns on Campus.  Read the article about a Georgia bill that went through the House on Monday allowing "Guns on Campus" and write a paragraph defending or opposing the law (think: OREO).
  2. W-up #19: Water.  Watch the spoken word "Water" and complete the sections of the Tell Me organizer.
  3. E Squared (E2): Research reasons for supporting or opposing guns on Georgia college campuses.  Use the links below to complete a paragraph using what you learned about topic.  Use the resouce below the links to guide your writing.  This writing needs to be on separate paper and signed by Mr. Leu in order to receive extra credit from your History or Literature teacher. You are responsible for turning the paragraph into the teacher for extra credit.

          *Body Paragraph: Minimum 8 sentence

THURSDAY

  1. W-up #20/21: Open Letter.  Analyze Porscha's open letter to her mother.  What is her tone in the writing.  What internal conflict had she been struggling with?  Once you have answered the questions above write your own open letter forgiving someone who has done you wrong.  Mimic the structure used by Porcsha.


FRIDAY

  1. W-up #21/22: TPCASTT-Bronx Masquerade.  Analyze the student poem by Jamel a former student of mine using TPCASTT.
  2. Notebook Check #3
  3. Finish documentary on black history and complete Top 10 (List 10 things you didn't know).
