  2. Watch Unspoken Word and jot down techniques and ideas for your poem for Open Mic Friday
  3. Writer's Workshop: Write a poem like Devon's by replacing the underlined words in the picture below (ie: Devon, jump shot etc) with words that help you reveal your true identity.
HW: (1)Vocab List (10 words);  (2.) Open Mic Poem; (3.) Study for Quiz (Ward-Janelle, Vocab List, Be able to do TPCASTT/Literary Devices for character poems on page 1-50)

    HW: Finish Stamp of Honor assignment for your Harlem Ren. person.

    1. Gallery Walk: Visit 3 stamps of honor and write down their occupation and why they should be remembered.
    2. Notes: Double entry journal
    3. Read pages 1-10 of A Bronx Masquerade and complete character log.
    4. Double entry journal: Complete a double entry journal by citing evidence of appearance vs. reality through each character introduced and writing thoughts and reactions to each character in warm-up section .
    HW: Pop-up notebook check on weeks 1-4 next week. Have pages 1-20 read by Monday (see "resource" links).

      HW: Study for Necklace Test (25 questions on text and 5 vocab words from list #1).  In Writer's Workshop, write a paragraph explaining a new alternate ending for the story The Necklace.

      Thursday
      1. The Necklace Test
      2. Review alternate ending rubric and script template
      3. Draft rough draft of alternate ending your group voted and selected.
      4. Peer-edit using rubric checklist
      5. Rehearse your lines
      HW: Final draft of script due Friday 20th. Rehearse lines to new ending (presentations begin Friday 20th.)
