TUESDAY:
  1. Finalize your alternate ending skit by writing it in your rough draft section using pen (3 min)
  2. Rehearse your lines 
HW: (1.) Final draft of script due Wed. 20th. (2.) Read sample alternate ending (The Necklace) and summarize what the new ending is and how the new ending changed the theme (lesson of story).

WEDNESDAY:

  1. Present alternate ending skits.
  2. Complete Exit Ticket: Compare and contrast the different presentations making sure to include the differences with each of their themes.
  3. HW EXTENSION:(1.) Final draft of script due Wed. 20th. (2.) Read sample alternate ending (The Necklace) and summarize what the new ending.  Explain how the new ending changed the theme using the list of common themes in literature. DUE 1/21/16

  2. When finished with question 72, copy down essay question 73 on page 175 of your notebook (Rough Draft Sec).
  3. HW: Complete a brainstorm for #73 essay question.

TUESDAY:
  1. Grade pretest and record score in data section of notebook (page 1)
  2. Draft 5-paragraphs for "historical figure" essay.
WEDNESDAY
  1. Intro Short Story Elements (notes)
  2. Read "The Necklace"
  3. Complete Discussion Questions (1-9) 
THURSDAY:

    HW DUE: Notebook Check/Necklace Questions 1-9
  1. Participate in class discussion for "The Necklace"
  2. Review/Begin mini-project: Alternate Ending for "The Necklace."                                 Common Themes to Use in New Ending
  3. Review for The Necklace Quiz on Friday 15th.
FRIDAY:
  1. The Necklace Quiz (1-25) 
  2. Answer the writing topic on quiz in one paragraph using evidence from story.
  3. Compete rough draft of your 3-min skit in your groups.  We will type up final copy on Monday 18th.
