NEED 10 QUESTIONS TOTAL FROM 4 SOURCES (book, movie, two text)
  1. Read speech and generate 3 questions for our seminar related to the subject matter: Malcolm X Speech on Separation Vs. Segregation.  Who in the movie would agree with Malcolm? See Freedom Writer's Character List
  2. Read the article on School Choice or Access to College for Undocumented and generate questions to help us understand the benefits and problems with school choice.  Why do you believe it is good or bad?
  3. Research discussion questions online for The "Bronx Masquerade" and the movie "Freedom Writer's" to add to your Socratic Seminar questions. Here are some ideas:

  2. Mini-lesson: Media Bias (see: S.S.S.L.O.P) and Persuasive Appeals (K.E.L.P)
  3. Apply notes on KELP and SSSLOP to documentary "13th" by placing examples of each persuasive method used by director in appropriate box on organizer.
  4. Review article on prison quotas
