MONDAY
  1. Documentary:  Finish watching 13th and complete organizer for the writing process
HW:  Body paragraph due Tuesday 14th.

TUESDAY
  1. Benchmark Testing:  Complete 21 questions to gather data on individual/class weaknesses in preparation of EOC.
  2. Writer's Workshop:  Edit/Revise body paragraph from 13th.  Edit/Revise focus will be on specific evidence and examples (green) to support the director's claim "13th Amendment did not abolish slavery."
HW:  Revise/Edit body paragraph for 13th focusing on adding specific citations, and examples from film.

WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY
  1. Writer's Workshop: Edit/Revise body paragraph for explanation and analysis (red). See student example.
  2. Mini-lesson: Cross Examination (4 Types)
  3. Film: Watch Great Debaters and complete the viewing guide (3 parts)
HW:  Vocab List 6 (2 words a day) and complete viewing guide for where we left off in film.

FRIDAY
  1. Mini-Lesson: Rhetorical Devices 
  2. Film: Finish watching Great Debaters and complete the viewing guide (3 parts)
  3. Write two R/ACER paragraphs for short answer questions on viewing guide for film.  See sample R/ACER paragraphs
HW:  Complete viewing guide (ALL 3 PARTS). Choose one debate topic to add to group list on Monday.
