Syllabus, Notebook Check #1MONDAY:
- Body Biography: Students completed an activity on symbolism as an ice breaker activity.

- Interview: Students interviewed one student about their body bio in order to present their findings to class on Tues.
TUESDAY:
- Presentations: Students presented their interviewees body bio to the class to better get to know each student in the class.
WEDNESDAY:
- Syllabus Review: Students highlighted information that will appear on syllabus quiz on Thursday.
- Socratic Seminar: Students watched Nate Parker's Who am I spoken word and jotted down one line that stood out and a question they would use to lead a conversation on the subject, and poet.
- Personal I am Poem: Students completed an I Am poem using a template to reveal more of their motivations and help the class get to know one another more.
THURSDAY:
- Syllabus Quiz: 8-10 questions covering the syllabus review from Wednesday.
- Unpacking Unit 1: Students used a graphic organizer to chart the verbs and nouns in the standards for Unit 1.
FRIDAY:
- Pre-test: Students will be taking their writing diagnostic to gauge their writing skills before unit 1.
