1.Visit this link and this link revise your dialogue
2. Add a poem and a reflection paragraph from Tyrone's point of view that reveals what he learned about your new character from their poem.
3. Proof read your story using the following checklist before typing: 
  • Is there at least 7 lines of dialogue
  • Is dialogue indented each time there is a new speaker?
  • Does dialogue reveal important stuff like the central conflict, or character personality or move the story along 
  • Is there a title (New Character's First and Last Name)?
  • Is the narration in first person (I, me, my, etc)
  • Does the story end up in Mr. Ward's class and leading up to the character sharing a poem?
  • Is there a poem and does it reveal the conflict in the story?
  • Is there a reflection paragraph from Tyrone
  • Does the poem have figurative language?
4. Publish your short story by typing it in Google Docs.  Under "Untitled Document" type your first and last name a dash followed by your new characters first name.
5. Proof read Google Doc before hitting the blue button "SHARE". After pressing share you will be asked for an email address.  My email address will be given to you in the lab.

      2. Peer-Edit: Grab a purple pen and use the C.U.P.S checklist to guide you in fixing your mistakes.  You must use the symbols below through-out your peers paper and attach the CUPS organizer to their paper to receive a lab grade.
      3. Final Draft: After your peer-edit, you should have rewritten your rough draft making sure to fix the mistakes identified in peer-edit.  Open Google Docs (needed: gmail acct), and TITLE IT: "YOUR FIRST NAME & LAST NAME-FINAL DRAFT"

      1. Writing Practice:  Read the article about what happens when Black Kennesaw State University cheerleaders recently kneeled during the national anthem.  Read the part the sheriff said. Write a letter to the Cobb County Sheriff explaining your support or condemnation of his words targeting the cheerleaders (8-10 sentences with one fact from the two links below). Use the letter template below to guide your writing.

TKAM project: Complete #4 on the project sheet.  Rewrite the last scene as Boo or Bob Ewell might have told it.  Some things to consider.  Explain why you were out walking late that night?  Were you waiting for the children? How come you have a knife?  Must be at least two pages in length and in final draft quality.

      2. Go to www.usatestprep.com and complete any incomplete assignments for partial credit (50%).
      3. Use your answer sheet handed to you in class to take Mock EOC on USATESTPREP. Your score on answer sheet should match the score online when you are finished plugging in the "Student" column of your answers (see below).  If you did not take Mock EOC then you must take test today in lab and finish for homework. 
        • After you receive a score for your completed Mock EOC, begin practicing the skills by placing  mouse over "MILESTONES EOC" then click on "9TH LIT & COMP".  See image below.  Work on turning the dots to green by completing practice questions or playing games related to that skill. 
      HW DUE 10/3:
