MONDAY
1. Finish Zinc Assessment from last Wednesday. Go to Zinc and finish reading test.
2. Finish reading The Necklace.
3. Complete the Fleshing Out a Character organizer for Mme. Loisel (looks like a skeleton).
4. 2-Point Writing: Write a paragraph describing the main character's personality using a minimum of 4 quotes from text.
HW: Write two paragraphs describing Mathilda's personality.
TUESDAY
1. Warm-up: Match characterization terms to definitions.
2. 2-Pointer: Revise HW describing Mathilda's personality using RACE strategy
3. Socratic Seminar: Jot down three open-ended questions to lead a discussion around the text The Necklace
HW: Write down an idea for a sequel/alternate ending to the short story Necklace
WEDNESDAY
1. Warm-up: Distinguish the theme statements from topic sentences.
2. Setup/Number Notebook
3. Unpack Narrative Standards for Reading/Writing
HW: Notebook Check #2/Come ready to discuss ideas for alternate ending, sequel or alternate point of view for Necklace.
THURSDAY
1. Notes: Writing a Narrative (BME strategy)
2. Brainstorm: Think about your assignment choice and what your beginning, middle and end will look like. Begin writing your rough draft in your "Narrative" section of your notebook.
3. Author's Chair: Read aloud your exposition ("B" in BME).
HW: Write a complete rough draft by end of class Friday 18th. We will have a HW check on Friday for vocab list and a HW check on Tuesday for your rough draft.
