1. Create a USATESTPREP account using login cards.
2. Finish typing final draft of new story/poem.  Click blue "share" button and submit story to my email: EdomLeu@gmail.com before 12 midnight.  Label your document your first and last name.
3. Peer-edit one person's paper for:
• 2 Poetic Devices (Include 2 examples of fig. lang) 
• Dialogue punctuated correctly: Dialogue Example
• Meets rubric guidelines: New Chapter Project Rubric
• Correct format: Times New Roman, font 12, single spaced (See below).

WEEK 6: New Chapter Project/Unit Test

TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY

1. Review Unit Project: Create a new character to add to Mr. Ward's 10th Literature class.  The character must be somebody totally new and unlike the other characters. Write a one page story  from the point of view of your new character. Include a minimum of 7 examples of dialogue and an original poem that reveals a conflict, future dream or goal of that character.

               New Character Project Resources:

• Dialogue Example (minimum of 7 lines of dialogue)
• Poetic Devices (fig. lang) (minimum of 2 fig.lang. in poem)

HW DUE 9/7: Rough draft (1 page min.) of your story due on Thursday.

THURSDAY

1. Writer's Workshop: Choose one of the following poetry types( link #1, link #2 ) to develop a poem in your originals characters point of view.  Poem must be a minimum of 8 lines with two Poetic Devices (fig. lang).
2. TPCAST: Trade papers with a partner and see if you can complete TPCAST strategy for the poem.

HW DUE 9/8: Rough draft (8 lines min.) of poem to go with story completed.  You can share for extra credit on Unit Test Friday.  Study for Unit Test!!! (covers all 17 characters, and vocab list)

FRIDAY

HW DUE 9/13: Final draft typed up in Goodle Docs and shared with me before end of class Wednesdat (see directions above), Study for Unit Test Tuesday (covers all 17 characters, and vocab list)
